Modular machine control system
Of modular element construction, the Liebherr machine control system has been designed for safety-relevant applications. It ensures that even when conditions in the immediate environment are difficult – severe contamination with dirt, excessive vibration or shock, high levels of humidity or extreme temperatures – the machine will continue to operate safely and reliably at all times.
All the measured values are checked for plausibility in real time by the control system. If any deviations are detected, the application is adjusted to a safe setting, either completely or partially depending on the type of machine. A special feature of the system is the digital real-time image display, which is made possible by a camera-display combination and avoids the delay in the image display normally encountered with conventional ethernet cameras.
In order to render the system capable of withstanding the loads occurring in actual operation, components were subjected to the very latest testing and simulation procedures during their development. Further extensive test serie were undertaken during the production phase.
Specially selected production processes such as protective coatings or the potting of printed circuit boards help greatly to make the devices resistant to even extreme environmental influences. During final assembly the strongly built housings are hermetically sealed to resist the effects of splash water or severe vibration.
