New addition to the successful series of Flat-Top cranes: 285 EC-B 12 Litronic
The new 285 EC-B 12 Litronic rounds out the successful range of Flat-Top cranes – the true top of the range. Like all the cranes in the EC-B range, the 285 EC-B 12 Litronic is designed as a modular concept, which guarantees compatibility of the tower systems within the range as a whole. As with all the models in the series, too, the central unit of the new Flat-Top crane is the innovative compact head. This completely pre-assembled unit contains the moveable cab, the switchgear cabinet, the jib folding frame, the slewing gear, the slewing ring with slewing ring support, and the current collector.

The new 285 EC-B 12 can provide a working radius of up to 75 metres. If required, the jib length can be configured in 5-metre sections from 24.4 m to 75 m. In comparison with the next smaller model, the 250 EC-B 12 Litronic, the maximum lifting capacity at the jib end with a 70 metre radius is 900 kg higher at 3,150 kg.

The 285 EC-B 12 Litronic has been designed for loading in standard containers. In order to ensure loading onto trucks as well, the counter-jib is designed for best possible ease of transport using the piggyback system. The compact head can be transported by truck standing upright. The complete upper part of the 285 EC-B 12 Litronic can be transported on five trucks with maximum radius.

The ‘LiConnect’ system, developed by Liebherr and protected as a utility model, is available for rapid jib connection on the EC-B cranes. The jibs are welded tight and securely connected using the rapid connection system. One centering pin and one locking pin in each case transfer the force in the lower chords by way of a positive fit surface.
