Large cranes 2000HC: Locating heavy loads with precision
Two type 2000 HC 60 large cranes are at work in the Mexican “Minera Peñasquito” gold mine in Mexico, west of Concepción del Oro in the State of Zacatecas. The first task of these giant cranes is to build the plant that extracts gold from the rock after it has been brought to the surface. When the plant is completed, the cranes will undertake filter maintenance, a task that involves the frequent movement of very heavy parts and assemblies.
Since all the drives on these cranes are controlled by frequency converters, the heavy loads can be installed with absolute precision. The two 2000 HC 60 cranes are mounted on stationary foundation anchors, and can reach hook heights of between 30 and 40 m. With working radii of 65 and 75 m, they cover a large radius, with maximum load capacities of 27.5 and 21.7 t respectively.
