First V12 diesel engine from Liebherr packs more than a thousand horsepower
At the Bauma Liebherr is presenting its D9512 diesel engine, a brand-new V12 high-end unit that develops up to 750 kW (1,020 hp). It is a significant upward extension to the Liebherr diesel engine range, which now covers outputs from 100 kW to 750 kW. The powerful new V12 diesel is designed for the extreme practical requirements of modern construction machinery operation. His high torque of up to 4700 Nm, his dynamic power flow over a broad engine-speed range and his low fuel consumption define this engine. Its unusually compact dimensions are a further advantage.
An intelligent electronic concept combined with the latest fuel injection technology ensures compliance with the EPA Tier 2 emission limits laid down for this class of engine, and is also a sound basis for meeting future demands. The well-proven common rail fuel injection system operates at a pressure of up to 1,800 bar and ensures an optimal combustion process by extremely fine atomisation of the fuel. The principal advantage of this system is the wide range of injection pressures and injection timing that it permits. Pressure can be adjusted independently of engine speed and injection volume, and there is a largely free choice of the injection period and fuel volume to suit actual operating requirements.
